Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes of Angola on stage Fashion Show at event pageant last year

Here’s the first event scheduled for Miss Universe 2012 , the 61st Pageant , The 89 Glamour Contestants who start arriving here this weekend. The official kickoff begins with a fashion runway show at Planet Hollywood on Dec. 6.

The beauty queen will wear their gowns on a catwalk to introduce themselves, and the public is welcome. They also will photo a behind-the-scenes tour with “Jubilee!” at Bally’s, with NBC recording the high-kicking lineup.

The preliminary pageant is set for Dec. 13 and the global telecast Dec. 19. Expect the holiday season to be “well embraced” on the telecast. Pure at Caesars Palace will host a party for the contestants. The current Miss Universe Leila Lopes of Angola will join pageant queen and Miss USA exec Shanna Moakler and 2011 Miss Nevada Jade Kelsall on Dec. 4 at Michael Boychuck’s salon Color in Caesa.
